Nearly Sighted
Nearly Sighted exists in the intersection of race, gender, and ability and weaves five black female choreographers Christal Brown, Crystal U Davis, Jaime Dzandu, Francine E. Ott, and Nia Love choreography and stories into a vocal tapestry that takes audiences on a journey into able-body, impairment, and privilege. Nearly Sighted is a 360 degree experience for the dancers as well as the audience who are invited to experience the work in the manner in which I created it -- blind in the left eye due to Glaucoma -- by wearing an eye patch over their left eye. Critical dialogue and discussions are engaged in after the performance.
